Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala 2017

Fashion’s tremendous power to create confidence and self-appreciation on the inside has been very much overshadowed by its focus to generate feelings of attractiveness on the outside. Despite their dedication to promote education of fashion arts and business by rewarding remarkable talents for their work and achievements, the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund and the Geoffrey Beene Foundation also presented many supportive cause to encourage healthy living of the body and mind.

The very handsome spokesperson of the Geoffrey Beene Foundation, Kellan Lutz on behalf of himself and Geoffrey Beene, as a lifestyle brand and a foundation, began his speech with a reminder that cancer had interfered with the lives of many including his and ours. He then shared his emotional story on how cancer had separated him from his loved ones and how wonderful it would be if we could fulfill our style needs from a fashion house like Geoffrey Beene, who persistently tries to push the research of cancer a step further.

The award ceremony was reflective towards the empowerment of fashion beyond superficial level. The young and hopeful talents were not the only ones to be awarded during the gala. Fashion titans JC Penney and Randa Accessories also received their awards for the field of retail and wholesale respectively and for their thoughtful participation in this program.
