Jeremy Scott: Slime City or Glam City?

Jeremy Scott’s fashion show adopted ‘slime city’ as its theme for the Spring/Summer 2017 season, which effectively drew socialites’ attentions to the fashion house and boosted the show to become the most talked-about fashion happening of the season. High expectations surrounding the designer and the show continued to rocket as the PR house sent out its non-static Fashion GPS invitations that displayed slime pouring down through grayish bricks, which pushed the curiosity even further about what was in Jeremy’s fashion kitchen.

Paparazzi became more aggressive as socialites started filling out empty seats and stroke some poses for the cameras. Just as the lights grew dimmer and everyone thought that the show was about to begin in any seconds, Paris and Nicki Hilton walked in to the Arc, heading to the center front where all other celebrities mingled, causing the calm to turn to chaos. Paparazzi exploded from their riser spots and threw their best move to snap a few pictures of the Hilton sisters before the PR people chimed in to guard the phenomenal duo. On the other side of the front row, Snapchat representative was busy recording Chiara Ferragni from the Blonde Salad. With all this fashion mayhem happening, Cameron Dallas managed to slip through the back of the paparazzi, who paid undivided focus to the Hilton sisters, without drawing as many attentions as expected from the paparazzi. Behind Cameron was Bebe Rexha who also managed to keep a peaceful walk to her seat. The front row was lucky enough to score a Longchamp bag with Jeremy Scott’s iconic Popsicle stamps.

Not to be outdone by the previous season’s, this season’s brunette mushroom wigs were as epic as the blonde ones we saw in Autumn/Winter 2016. Now that the lights were fully off and the music balanced itself, we were sure that no more star surprises would strike and that the supermodels were safe to catwalk the runway. Familiar faces appeared as the guests gushed ‘who is that’ — Elsa Hosk and Chanel Iman were some familiar faces who spiced up the already star-studded show.

The collections speak for themselves that they deserve the precious time and the coveted attentions of all the stars in Manhattan. Some of the impressive pieces were the pink and electric blue sequin tight dress with UFO disc placed around the thigh, as well as a men’s shirt with the graphic of ladies’ feet printed on it. The shoes were another wow factor in the show that fashionistas are so looking forward to own a pair.
